The World Health Organization (WHO) reported evidence of air transmission of the SARS-COV-2 virus, responsible for COVID-19 disease, after a group of 239 international scientists alerted this form of contagion. Frequent monitoring of the virus in the air may be the most powerful tool to maintain SAFE ENVIRONMENTS, apply preventive and corrective measures if necessary, and return to normal activity more agilely and safely.
The device is designed to be able to control large volumes of air, in any type of environment, not only in controlled environments, and to be manipulated by anyone without the need for knowledge or technical experience. To perform the air sample, which takes a few minutes, specially designed filters are used so that they have very easy handling, and that are also provided by the supplier. These filters are then sent to any laboratory that performs SARS-COV-2 or other viruses that are required to be monitored in the environment. This system represents an important benefit since it is not limited to SARS-COV-2 virus but can be used to control other viruses, such as influenza, other coronaviruses, even other types of microorganisms.
It is possible to execute monitoring plans with CAPTS to know whether or not environments are free of SARS-COV-2. For example, know if the virus is present in environments in health centers, hotels, restaurants, schools, etc. This will allow disinfection measures to be taken if there are diversions, and alert people who have been in the presence of an environment that is positive for the virus, among other things. Thus a hotel could develop an application that notifys its users that in the room, and environments that was hosted during their stay, were negative for the virus, so it was in SAFE ENVIRONMENTS. However, if there was a trap the application will be able to give the user a warning. These types of monitoring plans will not only be able to regain confidence in traditional activities more quickly, but will also allow to generate knowledge of what the behavior of the virus is like in the different environments and in the face of the different methods of disinfection. CAPTUS can be used to control other viruses, such as other coronaviruses, influenza future mutations of these viruses, emerging viruses or other microorganisms. For this reason it can be used to control microorganisms associated with diseases both that may affect humans and animals.
